Group Service Project
At Ruth Harbor, we love having groups volunteer at our homes. Whether you're a church group, a school team, or a community organization, your time and effort are a true blessing to our ministry. Working together, we can accomplish tasks that help maintain our homes and support those we serve. The types of projects vary based on the current needs of our homes, but here are a few examples of how your group can make a meaningful impact:
On-Site Service Projects
Cleaning: Helping maintain our homes by organizing, dusting, and tidying up.
Yard Work: Tasks like mowing, raking, planting, or shoveling snow.
Larger Projects: Painting, moving donations, or assisting with building and repair tasks.

Administrative Support Volunteers
As an Administrative Support Volunteer, you’ll assist with key administrative tasks that help keep our ministry running smoothly. Your work helps ensure that we can focus on serving those in need, while maintaining an efficient and organized office. Whether you’re experienced in administration or just enjoy contributing behind the scenes, your help makes a big difference.
Possible Tasks for Administrative Support Volunteers:
Mailings: Preparing and sending out newsletters, thank-you notes, donor acknowledgments, and other important communications.
Scanning: Scanning documents and ensuring they are properly stored and organized in our digital systems for easy access.
Event Support: Assisting with event preparations, including organizing materials, setting up, and providing general support during events.
General Office Assistance: Providing support with office supplies, inventory, and keeping the office space organized and functional.

Direct Care Volunteers

Event Task Force
At Ruth Harbor, we host one major event our November fundraising banquet is the highlight of our year. This large-scale event attracts around 500 guests, and we rely on the support of volunteers to ensure everything runs smoothly. The banquet is a time to celebrate our mission, share success stories, and raise vital funds for our programs. This event is crucial in helping us raise support and awareness for our mission, and we are deeply grateful for the volunteers who make them possible.
Volunteer Roles
Setup Crew: Help prepare the venue, set up tables, decorations, and ensure everything is in place for the event.
Greeting Guests: Welcome attendees, provide event materials, and make sure everyone feels at home.
Registration Table Crew: Assist with check-in, guest lists, and ensuring that all attendees are properly registered.
Banquet Hall Guides: Provide direction to guests, ensuring they find their seating and have everything they need.
Cleanup Crew: Assist in breaking down the event after it’s over, making sure everything is packed up.
